There are so many reasons that I loved working on Claire & Kryz's wedding (besides the fact that they are tremendously fun, cool people). Among these reasons are that 1) they were committed to their wedding have a strong sense of place (by honoring the places they are from, Wisconsin and Poland, respectively) and b) they entrusted nearly all design creation and execution to my care. For this wedding, I created table numbers with Polish translations, scouted and framed vintage maps, created all the reception floral arrangements, and so much more. Creatively, this was a seriously fun project. I loved how it turned out, but so much more than that, I loved Claire & Kryz's wedding day. It was beautiful, honest and fun --- just like them. Many thanks to Claire & Kryz for making me a part of their wedding team, and also to East Elm Photography for these lovely images.
To say this day was special would be an understatement --- a big one. Erin and Jon are the kind of couple that come around once in a blue moon and make you to believe that the wedding gods are smiling on you.
Not only are Erin and Jon two of the most gorgeous people (inside and out) that I've ever worked with, but they created a day that was so joyously rich and full of meaning. Their self-written vows had everyone in happy tears, the flowers in Erin's bouquet were chosen largely based on the individual flowers' meanings, and the wedding was covered in the bride's custom calligraphy work. It was gorgeous, it was sweet, it was happy, and it was a true pleasure to be a part of.
Erin & Jon, thank you for having me along on your journey towards marriage. And many, many thanks to Britta Marie Photography for these amazing images and Barret Kaufman for the gorgeous video!

Laura & Cody's wedding was a fabulous combustion of class, style and a hint of bohemian flair. Set against the stunning backdrops of Luther Memorial Church and The Edgewater Hotel, this day featured textured florals, soft colors and live-band dancing. I first met Brittany and Stuart for the best of reasons --- our dogs. We lived in the same apartment building in Madison, and they had just gotten their dog, Bear when our paths crossed taking the dogs outside.. He and my dog, Rhino, became fast friends, and so did we. It wasn't long before they brought me on board to work with them on their June wedding.
Brittany and Stuart's wedding was the essence of taste, elegance and simple class. They combined their love of Madison (their reception took place in UW's Wisconsin Institute for Discovery) with lovely flowers, good beer, soft lighting and delicious food --- a recipe for a fantastic party. Brittany and Stuart, thank you for having me (and pretty much all of my favorite wedding vendors) on board for this amazing day. And, thanks to Booth Photographics for these stunning images!
There are so many things I could say about Lindsay, Zach and their amazing June wedding. There was a beautiful country backdrop, gorgeous florals, decadent Italian food, donuts, live-band dancing with custom head-bands for all, and a dog. In short, this day was a recipe for one of my favorite weddings to date.
There were so many amazing elements in this day, but the best thing about this wedding was that it looked and felt just like Lindsay and Zach --- bright, fun and inviting. Lindsay and Zach, thank you from the bottom of my heart for choosing me to be a part of journey towards "I Do." I hope/believe that we will be life-long friends. And, thanks to Tim Tab for these amazing images!

For me, fewer things call to mind sea-side rustique better than rope. For a more subtle take on a nautical-themed day, try incorporating rope-inspired items like these into your celebration:

Rope-Tied Ursula Gown by JCrew.
Return Address Stamp for Invitations by Holmes Stamp.
My goodness, how gorgeous are these intricate paper flower creations by Frances & Francis? These would be great to add centerpieces, serve as an alternative to fresh-flower bouquets, hang from the ceiling or trees, or decorate a ceremony space. Lovely.
What's lovely, has the ability to fit in modern or vintage decor, and holds candles? A lantern! Lanterns are great wedding tools --- they can be centerpieces, lighting from the ceiling, aisle liners, and much, much more. Here are some of my favorite lanterns (and a few candle-holders) from around the web.
