What do you get when you combine a Sarah Seven dress with decadent Daffodil Parker flowers, a cute puppy in a flower collar, a country nature retreat and live band karaoke? April & Brian's wedding, of course! Many thanks to April & Brian for having me on board and to Megan Elise Photography for these images!
There are so many reasons that I loved working on Claire & Kryz's wedding (besides the fact that they are tremendously fun, cool people). Among these reasons are that 1) they were committed to their wedding have a strong sense of place (by honoring the places they are from, Wisconsin and Poland, respectively) and b) they entrusted nearly all design creation and execution to my care. For this wedding, I created table numbers with Polish translations, scouted and framed vintage maps, created all the reception floral arrangements, and so much more. Creatively, this was a seriously fun project. I loved how it turned out, but so much more than that, I loved Claire & Kryz's wedding day. It was beautiful, honest and fun --- just like them. Many thanks to Claire & Kryz for making me a part of their wedding team, and also to East Elm Photography for these lovely images.
To say this day was special would be an understatement --- a big one. Erin and Jon are the kind of couple that come around once in a blue moon and make you to believe that the wedding gods are smiling on you.
Not only are Erin and Jon two of the most gorgeous people (inside and out) that I've ever worked with, but they created a day that was so joyously rich and full of meaning. Their self-written vows had everyone in happy tears, the flowers in Erin's bouquet were chosen largely based on the individual flowers' meanings, and the wedding was covered in the bride's custom calligraphy work. It was gorgeous, it was sweet, it was happy, and it was a true pleasure to be a part of.
Erin & Jon, thank you for having me along on your journey towards marriage. And many, many thanks to Britta Marie Photography for these amazing images and Barret Kaufman for the gorgeous video!

I first met Brittany and Stuart for the best of reasons --- our dogs. We lived in the same apartment building in Madison, and they had just gotten their dog, Bear when our paths crossed taking the dogs outside.. He and my dog, Rhino, became fast friends, and so did we. It wasn't long before they brought me on board to work with them on their June wedding.
Brittany and Stuart's wedding was the essence of taste, elegance and simple class. They combined their love of Madison (their reception took place in UW's Wisconsin Institute for Discovery) with lovely flowers, good beer, soft lighting and delicious food --- a recipe for a fantastic party. Brittany and Stuart, thank you for having me (and pretty much all of my favorite wedding vendors) on board for this amazing day. And, thanks to Booth Photographics for these stunning images!
There are so many things I could say about Lindsay, Zach and their amazing June wedding. There was a beautiful country backdrop, gorgeous florals, decadent Italian food, donuts, live-band dancing with custom head-bands for all, and a dog. In short, this day was a recipe for one of my favorite weddings to date.
There were so many amazing elements in this day, but the best thing about this wedding was that it looked and felt just like Lindsay and Zach --- bright, fun and inviting. Lindsay and Zach, thank you from the bottom of my heart for choosing me to be a part of journey towards "I Do." I hope/believe that we will be life-long friends. And, thanks to Tim Tab for these amazing images!
Oh, friends. I've been DYING to share this wedding with you. From the custom wedding gown, radiant florals, barn venue and streamlined decor, this city-meets-country wedding was one for the record books. Many thanks to Green Paint Photography for these images!
What has happy flowers, lots of chic paper products, Parks & Rec quotes AND a gelato truck? Megan & Joey's fun-filled summer wedding, of course! Many, many thanks to Woodnote Photography for these amazing images!
Stacy and Jamie could not have chosen a more perfect venue for their August, 2014 wedding. This couple has a serious love affair with music and wanted their wedding to feel more or less like a great concert with a wedding attached. With that in mind, the Overture Center's Capitol Theater stage provided the perfect backdrop for this musically-infused ceremony and reception.
One of my favorite parts of this wedding were the sumptuous greenery-infused floral arrangements, bouquets, chuppah and candle arrangements created by Flora by Jamae.
Instead of traditional place cards, Stacy and Jaime had these tickets made by Fresh Paper Studios, with the colors coordinating with the guests' meal choices. So clever.
One of the benefits of working with the Overture Center is that you have access to their professional team of lighting designers, who created an amazing starlight backdrop and chandelier combination for Stacy and Jamie's reception.
And last, but certainly not least, Stacy and Jamie enlisted the services of This Must Be The Band, a Talking Heads cover band, to entertain their guests. Needless to say, the dance floor was packed all night long.
Thanks, Stacy and Jamie for having us be a part of this amazing day! And, many thanks to Queens and Hearts Photography for all of the images of this celebration.
Hi, friends! My most sincere apologies for the blog silence this summer! It's been a crazy/awesome/busy/wonderful few months. So, to catch you all up on where I've been and what I've been up to, I'll be sharing some of this summer's fantastic weddings with you over the next few weeks.
Leah & Dan take us all the way back to April with their wedding at the Wisconsin State Capitol and reception at the High Noon Saloon. This day was a unique and fun fusion of soft, vintage details, karaoke and classic, Wisconsin food and drink. All of these lovely photos were taken by the ever-so-amazing Bobbi of The Salty Peanut Photography.
I specifically remember leaving my first meeting with Leah and Dan with a desperation for them to hire me. Part of that was because they are just that cool, but it also had a lot to do with their team of vendors, like Daffodil Parker. Aren't these flowers amazing? I love the variety and texture in these arrangements and bouquets. Also, Leah and Dan were master floral re-purposers: in between the ceremony and reception the ladies from Daffodil Parker filled dozens of bud vases with the flowers in the ceremony arrangements to grace the reception tables. So creative.
Isn't this one of the loveliest group of ladies you've ever seen? Me, too. I love how Leah styled her bridesmaids, from the soft blue JCrew dresses to the sumptuous bouquets and the wraps she gave them as a gift. Such a great look.
Oh, how I love A La Crate Vintage Rentals! This day featured plenty of their custom chalkboard writing and signage, sugar molds, suitcases, and much more.
And finally, there was great food (from Blue Plate Catering), a karaoke dance party led by The Gomers, a photo booth, a cigar bar, and last (but certainly not least) a live broadcast of the Wisconsin Badgers final four basketball game. In short, Leah and Dan know how to party and created one of the most fun nights of my 2014 wedding season.
