For some people, registering for wedding gifts is difficult. Some couples have expressed to me that they feel as though registering for household items and goods feels impersonal, and that they wish there was a way to create a registry that feels like them, so that those guests who choose to bestow gifts upon them really feel as though they are contributing to their day-to-day lifestyle. Well, I think I may have stumbled upon the solution: Wedding Republic!
This website allows couples to create a registry by choosing an experience or item, deciding the value of that experience/item, and then breaking it into however many cash "gift pieces" they want for their guests to purchase. For example, a couple can calculate the cost of their yearly CSA (Community Supported Agriculture) produce, and break that in $50.00 "gifts" so that their local-produce-loving guests can provide that for them. Other items a couple can "register" for include iPads, Cooking Lessons, Wines, and Gym Memberships. Cool, huh?
